As a designated community under Alberta’s Rural Renewal Stream, Wetaskiwin is actively supporting workforce attraction and business expansion. More than 200 new employees and their families have relocated to the city, helping nearly 90 local businesses address workforce needs.

Commercial, Industrial and Residential Development Incentives

We offer a 3-year tax incentives on new industrial developments and new commercial developments with a minimum investment of $2 million in building permits are also eligible for the municipal tax rebate. on To support housing demand and workforce growth, City Council introduced the Residential Development Incentive Program, offering $10,000 per new residential build. With more than 15 approved applications, new homes are expected to be available by March 2026, supporting both population growth and employer recruitment.
